Diversity & Inclusion

WSU's Career Services Network Diversity and Inclusion Statement

Career Services stands united against racism, injustice, and inequality. As part of our mission to empower students and alumni to thrive and successfully contribute to the community, economy and future workforce, we are dedicated to helping connect job seekers with career-related resources and job opportunities committed to anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion. We stand as allies to marginalized communities and offer the following community-specific resources as a commitment to affirming the values of equity, inclusion and belonging.

Diversity and Inclusion Resources

WSU's Career Services Network welcomes all of the different cultures, identities, talents, and interests represented in our community. We strive to provide an inclusive and welcoming space for students of all backgrounds to explore their career options and pursue employment that is fitting with who they are and how they identify. We encourage you to explore how employers and organizations value attracting diverse students in order to build an inclusive culture with diverse perspectives.

A wide variety of resources are available to job seekers from backgrounds historically underrepresented and/or disadvantaged across high-skill industries. Exploring these resources can help you connect with employers actively seeking to diversify their talent pool through professional networks and advocacy groups. We hope you find it useful for quickly accessing online resources that can enhance your employment opportunities.

Employer Responsibility Statement

A diverse work environment is one that understands, accepts, and actually values differences in race, ethnicity, age, gender, spirituality, ability, and sexual orientation. When an organization truly values diversity, they create a sense of belonging for everyone. Wayne State University's Career Services Network is committed to connecting employers to our diverse student body. We hold all employers accountable in promoting a diverse work environment that provides equitable access of opportunities to all students including Black, Indigenous, Students of Color, women, LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, and international students. We are committed to working with employers who support anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion for all students. If you are interested in hiring Wayne State University students you can connect with the appropriate office in our WSU Career Services Network to share opportunities, recruit talent, schedule information sessions, get involved with campus, and host events. Furthermore, we will support any interested organization in reaching high standards to ensure the WSU students and graduates they hire feel a strong sense of inclusion, respect, and belonging.
