Biography

 

Susan Crowley is a College-to-Career (C2C) education enthusiast with 20+ years of experience in higher education career services. She is dedicated to delivering resources, networking opportunities, and professional development for C2C success. In her role, she collaborates with the employment community and campus colleagues to assist students with C2C preparation and to bring a pipeline of viable employment opportunities to campus for student mobility and career success.

Susan has an extensive background in Employer Relations, Event Planning, Database Management, and Website Development, including content creation. She manages Wayne State Career Services’ employer relations efforts, the office website, the university’s Handshake recruiting platform, the Big Interview resume creation and mock interview platform, and the CareerSpots career tips video platform. She bi-annually coordinates the Career Services All-Majors Campus Career Fairs (virtual and in-person), bringing over 250 employers and their job opportunities to campus each academic year. Susan supports seven WSU colleges with C2C resources and initiatives, and in 2023, she designed and launched the WSU Canvas Career Toolbox for all WSU faculty and staff to incorporate C2C resources into their coursework.

Susan’s education and training include a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University and a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies (MIS) degree from Wayne State University with a thesis focus on Work Motivation. She holds a Leading for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion certification from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and a Career Vogue Employer Relations Academy (ERA) Certification through the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE). She continues her professional development to remain up to date with current industry practices through her participation and memberships with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers (Midwest ACE), Michigan Career Educators and Employer Alliance, the Great Lakes Regional Student Success Conference, and the Career Leadership Collective.
